After a discussion during prime ministers questions, it has become clear that the coalition government intend to change the law regarding dangerous driving. David Cameron told MPs he wanted to give judges the ability to take exemplary action against the worst drivers on the UK’s roads.
This comes as little surprise after last year’s findings that one in three drivers who leave others dead or seriously injured avoid custodial sentences.
But, as figures provided by motor insurance specialist Quote Me Today illustrate, the incidences of dangerous driving are actually on the decline in the UK.
Along with other interesting motoring information, this infographic shows that there was a 40% drop in dangerous driving in the five years between 2005/06 and 2010/11.
