2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder at L.A. Auto Show
Posted on 06. Nov, 2009 by admin.
Weighing in at just 2,811 lbs., the new 2011 Porsche Boxster Spyder will be the lightest Porsche available – from a company known for lightweight, proficient sports cars. This new mid-engined roadster represents the true, purist form of the sports car – agile, powerful, open and efficient. This third Boxster model will join the Boxster and Boxster S and will make its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, December 2, 2009.
The newest member of the Boxster family stands out from the other versions of Porsche’s mid-engined roadster. Its low-slung, lightweight soft top – when closed – extends far to the rear to protect the driver and passenger from bright sunshine, wind and weather. This top, when combined with extra-low side windows and two striking bulges on the single-piece rear lid, provides the Boxster Spyder with a sleek silhouette reminiscent of the Carrera GT. [...]

Porsche has traditionally put great emphasis on the efficiency of its cars, but the new flagship 911 will give a whole new meaning to its high performance label: while its acceleration, braking and handling capabilities make it a true super sports car, it will go about its business with a thriftiness that is equally remarkable and by no means the norm in its class.

Porsche presented the Panamera to the world public today at the 13th Auto Shanghai. The Panamera is making its debut as an eight-cylinder delivering 400 and, respectively, 500 horsepower and with both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive, a six-cylinder gasoline model and a hybrid version following later.
Through its design and looks alone, the Panamera clearly stands out from the competition at very first sight. Like no other car in its class, it offers a truly unique combination of sporting performance and luxurious comfort. Despite its low and sleek silhouette so typical of Porsche, the Panamera, measuring 4.97 metres (195.7”) in length but only 1.42 metres (55.9”) in height, ensures a generous feeling of space on all four seats. New Porsche Cayenne Hybrid Details
Posted on 20. Feb, 2009 by admin.

Porsche shared more information about its Cayenne S Hybrid, which will debut next year. Using a parallel full hybrid design with the electric motor between the combustion engine and the transmission, Porsche engineers have been able to drive at speeds up to 86 mph without at all using the combustion engine.
This engineering achievement allows the Cayenne S Hybrid to roll freely – or ‘coast’ — at highway speeds without the combustion engine on, greatly minimizing engine emissions and fossil fuel consumption. This differs from current hybrid concepts that deliver benefits mainly in city traffic. Porsche, in cooperation with Volkswagen, opted for the parallel full hybrid design as it also significantly improves acceleration, a concept that matches the company’s philosophy of offering outstanding performance and efficiency. It also fits in the current Cayenne design with minimal alterations and without affecting interior space or luggage capacity. [...]

This special exhaust gives the customer the opportunity to adjust the 911 to his individual, personal preferences also in the car’s particular sound: At the touch of a button the exhaust system switches over to a sporting and emotional sound generated in particular whenever the driver prefers a truly dynamic style of motoring. You can customize your 911 even further with additional Porsche accessories.
The new sports exhaust system is made of modified stainless-steel main silencers and stands out clearly through its two dual tailpipes in unique design. The heart of the system is the exhaust flap on each main silencer activated by the engine’s electronic control system and switching over to a more sporting sound as soon as the driver activates the sound mode. The system itself is activated by a separate button in the centre console varying the sound of the exhaust as a function of engine load, road speed and engine speed.
