Chevy Sonic Turbo Gets 6-speed Auto‎

The Chevrolet Sonic’s fuel-efficient Ecotec 1.4L turbo engine will now be available in either manual or automatic transmission, bringing the increased torque of turbocharging to drivers of automatics.

“Providing the option of a turbocharged engine to our non-stick driving Chevy customers allows us to offer everyone the thrill and power of a fuel-efficient Ecotec 1.4L powerplant,” said Jim Danahy, vehicle line director and vehicle chief engineer for North American small cars. “Both in the Sonic and Cruze, the engine enables better fuel economy without sacrificing power or performance. Chevy Trailblazer Makes Debut in Thailand

The Trailblazer, Chevrolet’s tough new “haul-anything, go-anywhere” SUV, made its world debut today at a special event ahead of the Bangkok International Motor Show in Thailand.

First previewed in concept form at last year’s Dubai International Motor Show in the Middle East, the Chevrolet Trailblazer will go on sale around the world, beginning with Thailand in June.

Based on General Motors’ new global body-on-frame midsize truck architecture, the Trailblazer was designed to feature premium ride comfort and handling dynamics for urban and highway driving, matched by superior off-road capabilities. Continue Reading →

Chevy Shows Two Youth Concept Cars In Geneva

Next-generation buyers have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to influence the design and functionality of their perfect car. Two concepts, derived from input from young Americans, are debuting in Europe at the 82nd International Geneva Motor Show.

Hostesses armed with iPads will be available around the Chevrolet stand at the Geneva Motor Show to find out what youths think. Their input will be used for further development of future concepts.

Over the past year, Chevrolet has conversed with young consumers across the United States. Based on their feedback, the Chevrolet youth concepts, designed by Nicholas David and Joe Baker from the GM North Hollywood Design Center, explore the styling and functionality this group of new buyers says they are looking for in a car.
